The US-based big data analytics giant Palantir does a lot of work in Europe, but with the push for more sovereignty in the digital sphere, is any startup in the region building a comp? Enter Stratis. The Icelandic startup has raised money and raised its head above the parapet, even as it’s still working largely in stealth. However, we know something of the basic premise: taking datasets from satellites, logistics, markets and more and pulling them into a bigger analytical environment. In defence, it will blend classified data with that bigger dataset to “lift the fog of war” for commanders, analysts, and planners with predictive modelling and other tools. And yes, the aim is to be the “Palantir of Europe.” IL
