One of the big asks from Ukraine has been for more drones, delivered faster and cheaper, to keep up the pace against Russia. Its own target to produce 7 million this year gives you an idea of how many more. Ministries of defence in NATO are heeding that call, not just to help Ukraine, but to arm themselves with more modern defences. Twentyfour Industries is building a response to this: a supply chain it says is entirely in Europe to manufacture low-cost UAVs at scale. The German startup focuses just on reconnaissance drones — nothing kinetic — and when it emerged from stealth in January 2026, it didn’t reveal any details about customers nor how many units it’s producing, but it did note that “hundreds” of its first model, the Q-X, are in use already.
