Another up-and-coming startup in the counter-UAV space, Tytan is building an all-in-one system that covers AI software, ground stations and interceptor drones to address not just drone activity on live battlefields, but the growing issue of drone incursions in otherwise peaceful countries. The Munich-based startup recently raised funding at a $150 million valuation. That is modest compared to some of the other big defence tech companies being hatched in the region, but Tytan punches above its weight: is working with US firm Axon to develop “drone wall” strategies for NATO countries, and it has signed a lucrative, nine-figure contract with the Bundeswehr for counter-drone systems.
