We’re pleased to announce a new chapter for the Weekly Digest.
For 80 issues, the Weekly Digest newsletter has been a fixture in the inboxes of thousands of readers. It started on Substack, and as Resilience Media has grown, so have we. We’ve expanded our reporting and built out our coverage across defence tech. Now, the Weekly Digest has a fresh format and a new author.
Starting on September 3rd, our Editor at Large, John Biggs, will take over the newsletter, which will now be called This Week in Defence Tech. An original member of our editorial team, John has been covering defence tech for Resilience Media, reporting on the companies, technologies, and people shaping the sector. He spent 15 years in tech media at publications like TechCrunch and Gizmodo, and has contributed to publications including The New York Times and WIRED. You can connect with him on X and LinkedIn.
Defence tech is moving incredibly quickly, and it can be difficult to keep track of the most impactful news each week. This Week in Defence Tech will bring together the most important news from the week, combining our own reporting with coverage from across the industry, put it into context for the people who need to understand it. We will bring highlights from the startup sector, technology news, and relevant news in defence policy and procurement.
This is a newsletter for defence operators who need to make sense of a fast-moving industry and stay ahead of developments affecting their work. It’s for military leaders across NATO, startup founders and operators, investors, and anyone with a stake in the future of defence.
This Week in Defence Tech will arrive in your inbox on Thursday mornings, London time, with a new format designed to provide a critical briefing on everything that’s happened so far that week in defence tech. We’ll also send a weekend read on Sundays, featuring deeply reported stories from Resilience Media alongside an editor’s note.
For now, we’re keeping This Week in Defence Tech free because we believe the people shaping the future of defence, national security, and resilience should have easy access to the news and insights they need. Our goal is to build the widest possible community around this conversation.
Finally, thank you for reading the Weekly Digest. Eighty issues is a lot of Thursdays, and we’re grateful to everyone who has opened, read, forwarded, and shared them along the way. We’re looking forward to the next chapter.
If you were already subscribed to the Weekly Digest, there’s no action needed on your end – This Week in Defence Tech will reach your inbox. If you haven’t subscribed or want to share with a friend or colleague, use this link: subscribe to This Week in Defence Tech.
We encourage you to share this with colleagues, especially in defence.
