Europe’s air-defence gap is as much about production speed as it is about capability. Frankenburg Technologies is developing a new class of lower-cost defence missiles designed to be manufactured at scale within sovereign European supply chains. Its flagship Mark I short-range drone interceptor targets the surge in autonomous aerial threats, with plans to expand into a broader missile portfolio. The company aims to establish production lines in Germany and the UK capable of producing up to 200 missiles a day combined, and its approach leans on modular builds, off-the-shelf components and faster qualification cycles to keep costs down.
