Among the planet-explorers, weapons builders and element miners, Space Forge is also a product of that motion. The startup’s focus is the manufacturing of materials, specifically crystals to make state-of-the-art semiconductors back on earth, and it believes it’s come up with a way to create these in the zero-gravity, absolute-zero environment high above the earth. It recently launched its first microwave-sized machine to start the effort. Watch this space (literally). IL
