Ukraine-based Buntar Aerospace has raised $10.4 million to expand its intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platform and software. The round is led by Axon Enterprise, with participation from Munkene AS and others.

Buntar Aerospace develops ISR systems along with a software layer called Buntar Copilot. The company says the funding will be used to scale both the hardware platforms and the software system.

Buntar Copilot is a mission planning and control software system designed to support reconnaissance operations. It builds and adjusts flight plans based on inputs like weather, terrain, signal conditions, and battery limits, while coordinating sensors and video feeds. The company claims that the system can automate much of the operator’s workload, including route planning and wider systems integration.

“We build alongside frontline units and understand how important timely intelligence is in real operations,” said Bohdan Sas, Co-founder of Buntar Aerospace. “This financing will help us scale systems that give operators better information sooner and help protect lives in the moments that matter most.”

As part of the round, Buntar and Axon are entering a collaboration on technology integration. The stated goal is to expand access to Buntar’s ISR capabilities and improve situational awareness in high-risk environments for Axon’s customers.

“Great ISR is ultimately about protecting people,” said Rick Smith, Founder and CEO of Axon in a release. “Buntar is building technology that helps operators gain earlier awareness, respond faster, and make better-informed decisions in complex, high-risk situations.”
