As one of Europe’s leading venture investors, Jeannette has been at the forefront of discussions around innovation, industrial resilience and the technologies shaping the future of economic and national security. Her work spans venture capital, artificial intelligence, manufacturing and the strategic investments required to strengthen Europe’s long-term competitiveness.

Her participation comes at a pivotal moment. Across Europe and NATO, governments, investors and industry are accelerating efforts to strengthen sovereign capabilities, modernise defence and build more resilient technology ecosystems. Venture capital has become an increasingly important part of that equation, helping scale the companies developing the technologies that will underpin future security.

Resilience Conference London brings together the leaders shaping defence and security across government, the military, technology, finance and industry. Through keynote discussions, expert briefings, startup and scale-up showcases, and focused networking, the conference explores how allied nations can accelerate innovation and build stronger connections across the defence ecosystem.

Founded in 2024, Resilience Conference has become Europe’s leading defence-first technology conference, convening the people building the capabilities, partnerships, and investment needed to strengthen Allied security.

Resilience Conference London takes place on 5-6 October 2026. Buy your ticket today.

Jeannette zu Fürstenberg, Managing Director and Head of Europe at General Catalyst

As President and Managing Director at General Catalyst, I partner with founders building category-defining technology companies across Europe and around the world.

AI has unleashed a wave of innovation unlike anything seen in a generation. That conviction led me to back companies such as Mistral, Helsing, and Legora at their earliest stages, now among Europe’s most consequential AI businesses.

Before joining General Catalyst, I founded La Famiglia, an early-stage venture fund built around a simple belief: Europe’s most ambitious founders can build companies that compete with the best in the world. La Famiglia later joined forces with General Catalyst, bringing together a portfolio of exceptional entrepreneurs and a shared commitment to strengthening Europe’s innovation ecosystem.

That same confidence inspired the EU AI Champions Initiative. Launched in February 2025, the coalition has grown to more than 140 companies representing over €3 trillion in market capitalization, creating a unified voice for Europe’s startups and established industry leaders at a pivotal moment for the continent’s future.

Beyond General Catalyst, I serve as a Governor of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and as a member of the Tech Strategy Initiative at the Munich Security Conference. I am the author of the award-winning book Europe’s New Renaissance, which explores how Europe can reinvent itself for the decades ahead.

Awarded Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite in July 2026, (French National Order of Merit) for my role in advancing European AI innovation and Franco-German cooperation.

I hold a PhD in Philosophy and Entrepreneurship from Freie Universität Berlin. A lifelong student of art, I also founded Fürstenberg Zeitgenössisch, a contemporary art foundation and artist grant program.
