When it comes to securing physical environments and public safety, malicious actors are trained to evade traditional monitoring tools. Beyond individuals, crowds can have a mind of their own. Augur has developed an AI-driven cybersecurity platform designed to turn data recorded or tracked by existing infrastructure — for example, CCTV cameras — into a continuous GDPR-compliant monitoring and analysis engine to help mange and better understand what’s happening in a given public space. The platform includes automated detection, anomaly tracking and retrospective analysis. Augur says its tech is being adopted across critical infrastructure and public venues, used by organisations to identify potential safety incidents while reducing the cost and complexity of security operations. There is a clear dual-use track here, too: understanding the dynamics of footfall is important for customer service and wider business strategy. PS
