As a frontline state on NATO’s Eastern Flank, Poland is spending five percent on defence to build one of Europe’s largest armed forces. Resilience Conference Warsaw will examine what it takes to arm the Eastern Flank – spotlighting opportunities, constraints, and lessons emerging from military modernization.

Set to be the most significant defence tech gathering in Warsaw, the event is produced by Resilience Media in partnership with leading local investors to ensure thought leaders, founders, and investors are coordinated around defending NATO’s Eastern Flank.

He is a graduate of the Armored Forces Officer School in Poznań, the Czech Defence University, the National Defence University in Warsaw, and the Royal College of Defence Studies in London.

He began his military career in mechanized and armored units, serving in platoon and company-level command roles before moving into operational and reconnaissance staff positions in the 1990s.

In the early 2000s, he served as Deputy Commander of the Polish–Lithuanian Peacekeeping Battalion (LITPOLBAT) and later commanded the 1st Krechowiecki Uhlan Armored Battalion. He also led the Polish Military Contingent on the Syrian–Israeli border as part of the UNDOF mission.

Over the following years, he held senior operational roles at the Polish Land Forces Command and in multinational missions abroad, including serving as Chief of Operations for the Multinational Division Central–South in Iraq and commanding the Polish Battle Group of the “White Eagle” Brigade in Afghanistan.

Promoted to Brigadier General in 2011, he commanded the 17th Greater Poland Mechanized Brigade (“Digital Brigade”) and later the 12th Szczecin Mechanized Division, receiving promotion to Major General in 2016.

On July 2, 2018, he was appointed by the President of Poland as Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, the highest-ranking military position in the country. He completed his professional military service in 2023.
