US-based Reveal Technology has received a $9.5m purchase order from the US Army to expand deployment of its Farsight 3D mapping platform across additional infantry brigades.
The order, issued under Reveal’s existing GSA IDIQ contract, covers procurement, distribution, training and maintenance of Farsight, following a previous implementation with the 82nd Airborne Division and the Army’s Nett Warrior system.
Farsight uses computer vision, AI and edge computing to convert live video into 3D terrain models in near real time. The software runs on existing military hardware and can operate without an internet connection, giving infantry units tools for mission planning, route analysis, obstacle detection and terrain visualisation in constrained environments. Because the system runs on the edge it allows infantry to manage mapping in real time using the hardware they already have.
Founded in 2018 by former US Marine Corps officers and Stanford technologists, the company develops software for military intelligence, targeting, mission planning and battlefield situational awareness. Headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, it is led by co-founder and CEO Garrett Smith.
The latest order marks the second delivery under Reveal’s existing contract and extends a platform already deployed across the US Army, Special Operations Command, Marine Corps and allied forces.
