Orqa, a European developer of FPV and defence focused unmanned aerial systems, has completed a major expansion of its manufacturing site in Osijek, Croatia. The upgraded facility lifts production capacity to around 280,000 drones per year, aimed at military and security customers that need non Chinese hardware.

The company uses only proprietary components designed and built inside the European Union. That choice removes reliance on Chinese vendors at a time when Western defence planners are looking for secure, trusted supply in small UAS and FPV systems.

“This milestone reinforces our conviction that Europe can build a secure and independent industrial capacity for defence technology,” said CEO Srdjan Kovacevic in a release. “We’ve proven that high-performance drone production can be scaled outside of China, supporting the creation of resilient and trusted global supply chains. As demand accelerates, we’re ready to deliver securely and at scale.”

The new capacity sits on top of a fully vertically integrated model. Orqa designs, engineers and manufactures all critical parts in house, from electronics to airframes. According to the company, this structure gives it close control over performance, reliability, cybersecurity and spare parts availability, which are now central concerns for armed forces that depend on drones at scale.
